No film character has ever suffered a greater dilemma than that of Elizabeth Olsen’s in Eternity as she’s forced to choose between Miles Teller and Callum Turner.
The new romantic comedy from indie production powerhouse A24 is set to premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and has just dropped its very first trailer.
And be warned, it will probably bring you to tears (and also make you wish you were Elizabeth Olsen)…
The Eterntiy Trailer
A24 revealed the full length Eternity trailer via their Instagram account on July 29th.
“The decision of an (after)lifetime. Get swept away by David Freyne’s ETERNITY starring Miles Teller, Elizabeth Olsen, Callum Turner, John Early and Da’Vine Joy Randolph,” A24’s caption reads.
In it, we see Olsen arrive in the afterlife with a difficult decision to make: will she spend the rest of eternity with her first husband who was taken too soon (played by Turner) or her second that she spent a lifetime with (played by Teller)?

What Is Eternity About?
At its core, Eternity is a romantic comedy that revives our favourite theatrical trope: the love triangle.
The official synopsis reads: “In an afterlife where souls have one week to decide where to spend eternity, Joan (Elizabeth Olsen) is faced with the impossible choice between the man she spent her life with (Miles Teller) and her first love (Callum Turner), who died young and has waited decades for her to arrive.”
In the trailer we immediately see Joan grappling with the choice, and frankly we can’t blame her.
“A lot has happened in a week,” a confused Olsen tells Teller in the trailer. “You died. I died. I’ve just been reunited with both of my dead husbands, and I have to pick where to spend eternity.”
As Blakely Thornton perfectly put it: it’s “Materialists but dead”.
We can’t wait to see who she will choose.
