Will There Be A ‘Tell Me Lies’ Season Four? We Finally Have Answers

Tell Me Lies’ latest season may have been the most twisted, diabolical and tortuous dose of drama it’s delivered yet. Rarely was there an episode where I wasn’t screaming at my television or cursing the (fictional) existence of Stephen Demarco.

With SO much chaos unfolding it’s only natural to wonder how this season will wrap up and whether there will be a Tell Me Lies season four.

Warning: spoilers ahead.

As I said, it’s been a wild ride so far. Ahead of the finale, we learnt that the affair Bree is tangled up in 2015 isn’t who we first assumed (ahem, Oliver). In fact, it’s another member of the group: Wrigley.

In another twist, Stephen seems to take pity on Lucy and gives her back the taped confession. However, we later see that the black spots in Lucy’s memory are getting worse. When she tries to warn Tegan to stay away from Stephen, his new flame to reminds her that they’ve had this conversation before.

It leaves the audience wondering: Did Stephen actually give over the tape?

How can all this and more possibly wrap up in the season three finale, we hear you ask. Surely, there’s a season four in the works… Unfortunately not.

Will There Be A Tell Me Lies Season Four?

Ahead of the finale, show creator Meaghan Oppenheimer revealed that unfortunately there will be no Tell Me Lies season four.

Taking to Instagram, Oppenheimer confirmed that season three will be the show’s last.

“After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are proud of it,” she wrote alongside a picture of the cast.

“Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion,” the showrunner continued.

“My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you. And so, while it is bittersweet to leave something that has been such a happy experience, I am very grateful that we are able to tell a complete story with an intentional ending – a privilege very few shows get. Thank you for loving our show. We are excited to bring you more stories in the near future.”

So, no more being tortured by television’s worst boyfriend. It’s a bittersweet goodbye.
