This year saw Jennifer Lawrence step back into the spotlight with a noticeably different look. The star’s long, honey blonde hair and stylish new wardrobe certainly played a part but it seemed like there was something else different as well.

While fans were quick to jump to the plastic surgery conclusion, it turns out, the change simply comes from a new makeup artist

In a conversation with Kylie Jenner for Interview magazine, Lawrence spoke about the talents of her new makeup genie.

“I also think it’s incredible what makeup can do because I work with Hung [Vanngo], who overlines the lip, and I call him a plastic surgeon, because everybody in the last few months since I’ve been working with him is convinced that I had eye surgery,” she told Jenner.

“I’m like, ‘I didn’t have eye surgery. I’m doing makeup.’”

Jennifer Lawrence’s new glamorous look is simply the result of a great makeup artist.

Although Lawrence has admitted to getting lip fillers and a breast augmentation in the past, she explained that these changes were not the result of cosmetic surgery—not the type fans were imagining anyway.

“Apparently I’ve had full plastic surgery”, Lawrence laughed before explaining that the other changes are simply a result of getting older.

“I started [acting] at 19, so I get the before and after pictures from when I’m 19 to 30, and I’m like, ‘I grew up. I lost baby weight in my face, and my face changed because I’m aging.’ Everybody thought I had a nose job, and I’m like, ‘I’ve had the exact same nose. My cheeks got smaller. Thank you for bringing it up.’”

In just one interview, Jennifer Lawrence has not only showed us the power of an overlined lip (seriously, get us this makeup artist’s number) but reminded us that we shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions about someone’s looks.
