Netflix Is Reportedly Making A Second Season Of ‘Tiger King’

Brace yourselves for more cool cats and kittens

While the Tiger King era of quarantine may feel like a lifetime ago, it seems like Netflix’s surprise hit docuseries isn’t quite done, with a second season centred around the mullet-wearing, big-cat-breeding Joe Exotic reportedly on the way.

Although the wildly popular 10-episode show, which pulled back the curtain on some of America’s most notorious big cat breeders, has seemingly spawned multiple possible spin-offs — including a sequel that will allegedly investigate the disappearance of Carole Baskin’s first husband — a new report claims a proper second series of the show is in the works.

According to The Sun, Joe Exotic, who is serving 22 years in prison for plotting to kill Carole Baskin, has allegedly agreed to take part in the follow-up series with husband Dillion Passage, and businessman Jeff Lowe, who took over Exotic’s zoo in 2016, before a court ruling ordered him to give it up to Baskin in June 2020.

Exotic, who apparently is keen to ‘clear his name’ may be ready to reappear on screen, however it seems that Baskin will not return for season two.

Although The Sun’s insider claimed that Baskin declined to come back for a second series because her team allegedly couldn’t strike a deal regarding her fee, Baskin has since spoken to RadioTimes and said she was never approached for a second series and that she has no desire to take part in one.

“No one has asked me to participate in a second round of Tiger King, Murder, Mayhem and Madness and there is no amount of money that would cause me to trust the producers again after their sick betrayal of the animals and me,” she said.

“I wasn’t paid the first time around, although several people have come forward saying they were paid. That violates the very nature of a documentary along with so many other things that were staged and taken out of context.”

Netflix has yet to confirm the rumours of a second season.
