Former Yeezy womenswear designer Maisie Schloss debuted her first collection earlier this year – with financial backing and mentorship from Kanye West – and its slowly taking over our feeds.
Inspired by her unique aesthetic and design style, West provided Schloss with the first round of seed funding and support to allow her to further develop her vision. Schloss’ designs are easy, wearable silhouettes that have already gained attention from Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Megan Rapinoe and Winnie Harlow (just to name a few).
The Spring Summer 2020 collection features garments with animal-like prints and body-conscious cuts that are inspired by the “regimented, systematic, and repetitive” nature of rhythmic gymnastics and robotics. From miniskirts with ruched detailing to form-fitting leggings paired with bodysuits in the same print, Maisie Wilen is only just getting started.
