Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are celebrating their one-year anniversary, and Markle's 36th birthday, with a trip to Africa.
The loved-up couple was spotted leaving the tarmac in Botswana with big smiles on their face, with The Sun reporting that they went straight to a surprise BBQ at one of Harry's close friend's houses.
While on holiday, Meghan and Harry are expected to go on safari, take a boat trip and go camping. Though Meghan has visited the country before, this will be her first safari, with a friend telling the publication: “She is super excited about their holiday together and to see Africa though Harry’s eyes. Of course, she’s visited the continent before through her charity work, but this is her first ever safari."
"She adores animals, particularly elephants, and was just over the moon," they continued.
Harry has made it no secret that he loves Africa, saying on numerous occasions that the country feels like his second home.
"I've been lucky enough to visit Botswana for more than 20 years and am incredibly fortunate to be able to call it my second home," Prince Harry said in January while visiting the area.
"This is where I feel more like myself than anywhere else in the world," he told Town & Country. "I have this intense sense of complete relaxation and normality here."
Of course, the romantic vacation has reignited engagement rumours, especially given that Harry's brother, Prince William proposed to the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton atop Mt. Kenya.
