Chrishell Strause and G Flip, whose real name is Georgia Claire Flipo, have announced their breakup after four years together.
The couple, who first began dating in October 2022, shared separate statements to their social media followers breaking the sad news.
In a teary video shared on October 27th, the Selling Sunset star explained that she and G Flip were “no longer together” before saying that she felt “like a little bit of a failure”.
“We have agreed to treat this public separation with love and respect for each other. That’s not hard for me because I am in love with this person, and I don’t have all the information or the reasons,” Strause said.
“I’m sure, just like always, with time, you know, you get the lessons you’re meant to get. And I know that will happen and I’m gonna heal and everything’s gonna be fine.”
Clearly heartbroken over the split, Strause then swore she’s “definitely never doing this again”.
She continued: “I don’t know what else to say, you guys. I feel like a little bit of a failure.
“There’s nothing you could say about me that would be worse than what I say to myself. I just have to kind of heal and figure this out. It’s hard. It’s painful.”
Australian musician G Flip broke the news to their fans in a written statement via Instagram.
“After 4+ years Chrishell and I are no longer together. I will always love her, we will always share a special connection and I cherish our memories together deeply,” the singer wrote.
“My head & heart are feeling very heavy right no and I’m not able to talk but I want to thank you all for your support and appreciate you respecting our privacy at this difficult time.”
While the couple met in 2021 at a Halloween party, they didn’t begin dating until March of the following year. By 2023, Strause and Flipo had eloped in Las Vegas, though the marriage was never legally formalised.
The following year, in 2024, the pair had a medieval vow renewal at G Flip’s Australian residence and had, at one point, been discussing a future with children in it.
“I definitely see children in my future,” G Flip said during an episode of People’s People Every Day podcast.
“I love children. I was a music teacher for years before I became a session drummer and then a solo artist. So I was like, I’ve always loved kids. Definitely one day that’ll be in the future.”
Why Did Chrishell & G Flip Break Up?
Neither Chrishell nor G Flip have shared what led to their breakup, but it’s clear from their statements it was not an easy decision.
In her video, Strause stressed that even she didn’t have “all the information or reasons”.
“I am in love with this person, and I don’t have all the information or the reasons,” the 45-year old said, “I’m sure, just like always, with time, you know, you get the lessons you’re meant to get.”
Whether that hints at the split being one-sided or that sometimes relationships just don’t work out and there’s no real way to rationalise it, well, that is up to you to interpret. Either way, we’re deeply saddened by the news.
