Joe Alwyn and Sarah Pidgeon have officially become my favourite summer romance. The British actor, best known to many as Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriend, was spotted kissing the Love Story star on a grassy knoll in London yesterday.
The pair were photographed wrapped up in each other on a picnic blanket, laughing, sharing wine (a pét-nat, perhaps?) and stealing kisses in the rare British sunshine, looking blissfully smitten.
The London outing comes just days after Alwyn attended the Saint Laurent Spring–Summer 2027 fashion show in Paris solo.

It also marks the second time the pair have been photographed together publicly. They were first spotted last month on a PDA-filled date in New York, before being seen again walking arm in arm through the city following the Knicks’ big win. Meanwhile, celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi has claimed the actors have been quietly spending time together for weeks.
If this really is the beginning of something, the timing feels serendipitous. With Taylor Swift reportedly about to tie the knot with Travis Kelce in New York City, it seems like an ideal moment for Joe to embark on a romance of his own.
Here’s hoping he and Pidgeon continue gallivanting around the globe in the glorious first flush of new love!
For Alwyn, the new relationship is one of the first since his high-profile split from Swift. The former couple dated for more than six years before ending their relationship in 2023.
Following the breakup, Alwyn was briefly linked to actor Emma Laird after she shared a photograph of him on Instagram. The pair starred together in the 2024 historical drama The Brutalist, though neither ever confirmed they were romantically involved.
Pidgeon, meanwhile, has enjoyed a breakout year following the success of FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. The actress has largely kept her personal life out of the spotlight and has never publicly spoken about her dating history.
She was previously rumoured to be dating Spacey Jane frontman Caleb Harper, but Alwyn is the first person she has been publicly linked to since earning widespread acclaim for her performance in the FX limited series.

Alwyn addressed the end of his relationship with Swift for the first time in June 2024, when asked about The Tortured Poets Department.
“I would hope that anyone and everyone can empathise and understand the difficulties that come with the end of a long, loving, fully committed relationship of over six and a half years,” he told The Sunday Times Style. “That is a hard thing to navigate.”
As for Swift, she offered glimpses into the relationship’s breakdown through her music.
On “You’re Losing Me”, a bonus vault track from the Midnights era, the singer appeared to reflect on a love that had slowly unravelled:
“How long could we be a sad song / Till we were too far gone to bring back to life? / I gave you all my best me’s, my endless empathy.”
Then came The Tortured Poets Department and “So Long, London”, a song that feels like the antithesis to Lover‘s optimistic “London Boy”:
“You swore that you loved me, but where were the clues? / I died on the altar waitin’ for the proof / You sacrificed us to the gods of your bluest days / And I’m just getting color.
With Swift on the cusp of marrying Travis Kelce, it seems like the perfect time for Alwyn to be publicly moving on.
