After a years-long musical hiatus, Justin Bieber is stepping back into the spotlight with Swag. The pop icon has officially announced his seventh studio album, Swag, and it’s set for release at midnight on Friday July 11 in the U.S.

News of an upcoming release was first hinted at by The Hollywood Reporter in April, when insiders revealed the Peaches singer was headed to Iceland to put the finishing touches on the album.

It seems the trip was a productive one for Bieber, who decided to honour his time there by announcing the album’s release on Thursday (local time) with a billboard in Reykjavik. Shortly after, the marketing buzz hit homeshores, with the announcement towering over LA’s Sunset Boulevard, and popping up everywhere across America.

Depicting a black and white photo of Justin Bieber alongside wife Hailey and their son Jack, the title ‘Swag’ – assumed to be the album title – appeared with a 20-song tracklist.

While we’re still unsure if the intimate images shared to Justin’s personal Instagram will be on the album cover, the good news is – we won’t have long to wait.

With emotional track titles, unexpected features and a new fashion label to match, Swag is shaping up to be Bieber’s most intimate project yet. Here’s everything we know so far about what to expect from the surprise release.

When Will Swag Be Released In Australia?

Swag is due to drop at midnight on Thursday, July 11, U.S. time, which translates to roughly 5PM AEST on Friday, July 11 for fans in Australia.

The release was teased via cryptic billboards and later confirmed by Bieber himself on Instagram, sparking international buzz and fan theories about the album’s content, sound and significance.

What Is Swag Album About?

The new Justin Bieber album, Swag, is already being heralded as his most introspective and personal record yet. Spanning 20 tracks, it explores themes of fatherhood, healing, marriage, fame, faith and mental health. Tracks like Dadz Love, Therapy Session, Devotion, and Forgiveness suggest a deep dive into Bieber’s growth as a husband, new father, and artist at a crossroads.

After four years, it’s fair to say there’s a lot of source material to tap into, especially given the very public scrutiny surrounding the singer’s mental health, relationship status and ongoing personal issues continuing to dominate headlines.

Swag is expected to offer an unfiltered look into Bieber’s life, not just as a performer, but as a partner, parent and person. And while you could be forgiven for assuming the title is a callback to Bieber’s teenage persona, the meaning seems to have shifted into a more mature landscape for 2025 – perhaps signalling a new, more grounded era for the performer – and dare we say, a more peaceful one.

Confirmed album features include Gunna, Sexxy Red, and Cash Cobain, with a mix of hip-hop, R&B influences and trap suggesting a genre-blending project could be heading our way.
