There’s been a development in the Katy Perry–Justin Trudeau relationship timeline.
After going Instagram official late last year, the pair have now taken things to the desert, making their Coachella debut as a couple.
On April 12, Katy Perry dropped a carousel from the festival, with Trudeau very much front and centre.
She stuck out her tongue in a tee that read “Pls do not give me a rip off your vape no matter what I say”, shouted out the Goodyear blimp, and shared clips of the loved-up pair dancing along to Justin Bieber’s headlining set.
In one shot, they wove through the Coachella crowd hand-in-hand in matching white tees. In another, they stood side-by-side with snacks and red Solo cups. There was also a video of them watching the stage, Trudeau hovering just behind Perry in a way that felt very boyfriend-at-a-festival.
Perry, for her part, leaned into the full festival uniform: a fitted white tee with shorts, a tiny black backpack, a cardigan, and black boots with pulled-up socks.
Trudeau kept it simple in jeans, a white T-shirt, and a backwards cap. It marked a distinct shift from her recent political plus-one wardrobe, which has included a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and appearances at the World Economic Forum.
The other man of the hour was Bieber, who Perry also spotlighted in her post. She was right up near the stage for his set and even threw in a throwback meet-and-greet photo, confirming this was a long-standing fan situation.
Trudeau and Perry have been dating since mid-2025, and Perry has been refreshingly open about it. Ski trips, boat days, the occasional global summit cameo. Without that steady stream of updates, you could almost convince yourself it wasn’t real, purely because of how unlikely the pairing is.
If Coachella was anything to go by, they looked like they were having the time of their lives and, frankly, we’re here for it.
