Exciting news for Star Wars fans as the actor to take the role of a young Han Solo in the new spin-off movie about the character’s early life has been announced. The role will be played by Alden Ehrenreich, who will take up Harrison Ford’s legacy (Harrison Ford in the iconic role pictured above).
Alden was a breakout star in the Coen Brothers’ movie Hail Caesar! earlier this year. Disney made the announcement that he would be the next Han Solo at the Future Filmmaker panel at the Star Wars Celebration Europe event over the weekend, and John Boyega, who played Finn in the most recent movie (Star Wars: Episode VIII).
Although other actors like Jack Reynor, Logan Lerman, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner were considered, Alden took out the coveted role.
