Meghan Markle Shares Rare Glimpse Of Archie & Lilibet At Princess Diana’s Childhood Home

Following news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were returning to the UK, the family has now shared a glimpse of their first weeks back in Blighty.

The montage, shared to Instagram, begins with Harry and Meghan strolling through the woods before featuring a crackling fireplace and Wellington boots stomping through a puddle. Prince Harry is also seen fishing in a pond with his son and daughter, with Archie’s American accent heard over the music as proudly showcases his fish.

The couple’s Labrador, Pula, also appears in the footage. According to reports, the family have set up their new home in the Cotswolds, in England’s south-west, approximately two hours from London.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are careful to only share glimpses of their kids, with both parents fiercely protecting them from public scrutiny. Harry, in particular, has been very vocal about his youth in the public eye, and the effects it has had on his mental health.

In his memoir, Spare, Harry wrote: “The press made my childhood a spectacle, invading every moment, stripping away any sense of normalcy or privacy.” He also said he wanted to give his children the “childhood I never had”, away from the public eye. So far, Harry and Meghan have managed to share just enough of their children to avoid media invasions of their privacy, and also enough to let them live their own life.

Adoring mum Meghan recently shared another rare glimpse at family life, celebrating Lilibet’s fifth birthday in June with some photos showing off her daughter’s crown of flowing red hair.

Prince Harry has previously said the red hair-gene comes from Princess Diana‘s side of the family. Appearing on the Stephen Colbert show in 2023, Harry said his kid’s look like his mother. “Definitely my mum,” he said in response to a question about where he sees a family resemblance. “The ginger gene is a strong one!”

“The Spencer gene is very, very strong,” he continued. “I actually really, genuinely thought at the beginning of my relationship [with Meghan] that should this go the distance and we have kids that there’s no way the ginger gene will stand up to my wife’s genes, but I was wrong! Go gingers.”

Lilibet is the youngest of Harry and Meghan’s kids, with Archie being her older brother.

How Many Kids Do Harry & Meghan Have?

Princess Lilibet is the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Her full name is Lilibet Diana, an homage to both Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, and his mother, Princess Diana.

On Lili’s birthday in 2025, Meghan shared a photo with Lilibet and Harry, writing: “The sweetest bond to watch unfold 💕 Daddy’s little girl and favourite adventurer.”

What Are The Last Names Of Harry & Meghan’s Kids?

When they were born, Archie and Lilibet were given the surname Mountbatten-Windsor. However, given the family’s choice to give the children royal titles, Harry and Meghan’s kids now have the last name Sussex.

Speaking to Mindy Kaling in an episode of her Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, the Duchess explained why the Sussex last name is special to her. “It’s so funny too that you keep saying ‘Meghan Markle’. You know I’m Sussex now,” she told Kaling. “You have kids and you go, ‘No, I share my name with my children.’ I didn’t know how meaningful it would be to me, but it just means so much to say, ‘This is our family name. Our little family name.'”

How Old Are Harry & Meghan’s Kids?

As of the time of publishing in September 2026, Harry & Meghan’s kids were aged seven and five.
Archie was born on May 6, 2019, making him seven years old in 2026. Meanwhile, Lilibet was born on June 4 2021, making her five years old. There’s just over a two-year age gap between Archie and Lilibet.
