Victoria Beckham Finally Breaks Silence On Estrangement From Brooklyn

"All we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children"

Victoria Beckham has, for the first time, addressed the ongoing rift with her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham—albeit cautiously.

In a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, published Thursday, Beckham stopped short of naming Brooklyn directly when asked about their relationship, offering instead a carefully worded response.

“I think that we’ve always… we love our children so much,” she said.

“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. We’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. That’s all I really want to say about it.”

Victoria and David Beckham share four children—Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. The younger three have largely remained removed from the tensions, though Cruz briefly entered the fray via Instagram Stories, claiming it was Brooklyn who had blocked both him and their parents on social media.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, is understood to have been estranged from his family for several years.

The fracture became a fixture of tabloid coverage throughout 2025, intensifying in the years following Brooklyn’s wedding to Nicola Peltz Beckham.

In January 2026, Brooklyn took to Instagram to say he did “not want to reconcile” with his family, accusing his parents of circulating “countless lies” in the media and describing their public-facing dynamic as “inauthentic” and “performative.”

He also made a series of personal allegations, claiming his mother “hijacked” the couple’s first dance and “danced very inappropriately” with him in front of 500 guests. “I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he wrote.

Brooklyn further alleged that there were attempts to interfere in his relationship with Peltz, including a last-minute withdrawal from designing her wedding dress and pressure to sign away the rights to his name.

Elsewhere in the interview, Beckham suggested the ongoing rift has had little impact on her business. The former Spice Girls singer, who launched her eponymous fashion label in 2008 before expanding into beauty, attributed its continued success to the strength of the product itself.

“I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good,” she said. “I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me.”

She also reflected on her 26-year marriage to David, noting they have never attended couples therapy, though she has sought therapy independently. Instead, she credits communication and a shared sense of humour as foundational to their relationship.

For now, the Beckham family rift appears unresolved. But if her comments are anything to go by, Victoria seems to be keeping the door wide open to Brooklyn.
