Two women have been left fighting for their lives after a vicious attack in their home in Sydney’s Emu Plains.
A man in his 20s has been arrested over the attack on his mother and girlfriend with a machete just before midnight, according to police.

Police found the two women, aged 55 and 22, locked inside their bedroom where it is understood the man had attempted to gain access before fleeing the scene.
The women were both conscious but heavily bleeding with multiple injuries to their head and bodies. They were treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead hospital.

Police found the man just 400 metres away, he was reportedly naked when they took him into custody.
