Head here to give Pieces of Britney a listen.
Been missing the voices of Pandora Sykes and Dolly Alderton following the farewell of their weekly podcast, The High Low? Same. Thankfully the former podcasting duo has been busy at work releasing other projects (seriously recommend Alderton's Sentimental in the City), with Sykes' new investigative look into the life of Britney Spears launching on July 1.
"For the past six months, with the help of my brilliant producers Anne Isger and Sasha Yevtushenko, I’ve been working on the incredible life of Britney Jean Spears—and what her story tells us about sex, politics, the entertainment industry and how we treat women in the public eye," Sykes wrote.
For the project, Pieces of Britney, Sykes interviewed lawyers, psychologists, journalists, #FreeBritney advocates and veterans of the music industry to "build up a sympathetic retelling of Britney: a C21st pop-icon, who was placed in a 13yr conservatorship from which she is pleading to be released from."
The eight-part series, available from July 1, also includes dramatisation from playwright Katie Hims, who Sykes says will help piece together the often conflicting accounts in Britney's story.
