Despite this, Johansson did speak out about the exciting announcement in an interview with Allure, explaining (very briefly) what is in the works.
"I created this brand to elevate clean, essential skin care," she said. "This will be a brand for everyone who wants their skin to look its best with minimal effort."
Surpring to some, Johansson is far from new to the beauty industry, having previously served as the face of L'Oréal Paris and a celebrity model for Dolce & Gabbana's collection of The One fragrances. But this time, Johansson is set to serve as a brand's founder and chairman, rather than simply its ambassador.
"Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me," she said in the press release. It also states that she has chosen to operate the brand independently to ensure that she can be intimately involved in every aspect of the company from the ground up.
Either way, we can't wait to see what comes next so keep your eyes posted for any updates or announcements.
