Selena Gomez’s ‘The Broken Hearts Gallery’ Is A Must-Watch For Any ‘Sex And The City’ Fan

Calling all Carrie Bradshaw fans!

If you find yourself envying the trials and tribulations of Carrie Bradshaw’s perfect New York City love life, then The Broken Hearts Gallery is for you.

Whether you prefer Sex And The City, Girls or The Bold Type, there are a plethora of ways to get your ‘single girl in NYC’ fix, and this new flick is no exception.

Executive produced by Selena Gomez, The Broken Hearts Gallery follows the life of Lucy, who is a “20-something art gallery assistant living in New York City, who also happens to be an emotional hoarder.” The film chronicles Lucy’s life after her latest boyfriend breaks up with her, which inspires her to create her own gallery: The Broken Hearts Gallery.

A pop-up space for the items that past loves have left behind, as word of the gallery spreads, her work encourages a movement and a fresh start for all romantics, including Lucy herself.

The charming film stars Geraldine Viswanathan as Lucy, from Bad Education, and Australian Dacre Montgomery who you may recognise from Stranger Things, playing her love interest Nick.

The rest of the impressive cast includes Booksmart‘s Molly Gordon, The Mindy Project‘s Utkarsh Ambudkar, Broad City‘s Arturo Castro, Assassination Nation‘s Suki Waterhouse, Saturday Night Live‘s Ego Nwodim and famous model Taylor Hill.

Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Natalie Krinsky, she likened the process to finding love, saying: “Getting a film made—especially your first—is like finding a soulmate: years of heartbreak and (maybe) ultimate triumph. In this moment of distance it feels good to fall in love. I can’t wait for audiences to (safely) see it in theatres.”

The Broken Hearts Gallery is set to hit Australian cinemas on July 16th.
