If I could have an endless supply of anything, it would almost certainly be shoes. Maybe it’s because I’m a Libra and physically incapable of deciding which pair of black boots works best with an outfit. Or maybe it’s simply the shopaholic in me who can’t resist hitting ‘add to cart’ whenever a cute new pair of flats appears on my screen.

Either way, I’m not far off becoming Isla Fisher in Confessions of a Shopaholic, sitting on my wardrobe floor surrounded by boxes of shoes.

After years of building my collection, it’s fair to say I’ve learnt what separates a good pair of shoes from a great one. I know how they should fit (quality leather will naturally soften over time, so sizing up isn’t always the answer), how to care for them (a suede brush and leather conditioner are considered household essentials for me), and perhaps most importantly, which brands consistently deliver.

That’s exactly why I keep coming back to Tony Bianco.

It’s a name most Australians will recognise, but what many people don’t realise is that the brand has spent more than five decades perfecting its craft. Founded by Tony Bianco and his wife with just five employees in a small Hawthorn boutique, the label has since grown into an internationally recognised footwear destination while remaining committed to quality craftsmanship.

One of the reasons for that consistency is its longstanding relationship with the same manufacturing partner since the brand’s inception. Skilled artisans continue to use traditional shoemaking techniques that honour the heritage of the craft, resulting in shoes that feel considered, beautifully made and designed to last beyond a single season.

Of course, beautiful shoes are only part of the equation. I also judge a brand on what happens after you’ve checked out. Things like repairs, returns and customer service matter just as much when you’re investing in footwear you’ll wear for years.

On that front, Tony Bianco has always impressed me. I once reached out after wearing down the heel tips on a favourite pair of boots and was quickly offered replacement heel tips, making the process simple and surprisingly stress-free.

The shopping experience is equally seamless. Online orders are generally dispatched within 48 hours (excluding weekends and public holidays), while orders over $150 receive free express shipping—which, if you’ve ever browsed the site, you’ll know is a remarkably easy threshold to reach.

If you’re anything like me and don’t love waiting for deliveries, the brand also offers complimentary Click & Collect. Provided your chosen store has stock available, your order can be ready for collection within 24 hours.

Returns are equally straightforward. For a limited time, Tony Bianco is waiving return fees on eligible refunds, allowing customers to submit a return request, attach the supplied label and process their refund in line with the brand’s terms and conditions.

And if you’re still not convinced Tony Bianco deserves a place in your shoe collection (or your walk-in wardrobe, Confessions of a Shopaholic-style), the styles below might just change your mind.
