We’re not going to lie. We don’t exactly look forward to all the horrendous ‘staches that pop up during Movember. Especially since many of them seem to stick around long past the month of November. But, it’s all in the name of a great cause (to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide) and TBH, there are some guys that can *actually* pull the look off.
Now, we may be a few months away from Movember, but last night The Weeknd served up some moustache inspo when he debuted this ’80s-inspired ‘mo, and it has caused quite a stir on Twitter.
Reminiscent of ‘80s icons like Lionel Richie and Prince, the Internet was divided on the singer/actor’s new look, which he showed off at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his new and debut feature film Uncut Gems.
Some speculated it had to do with his upcoming album, which sparked predictions that it may channel the ‘80s, while others put it down to his kinda-recent breakup with on-again, off-again ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid.
Bella Hadid has also been rocking a new hairstyle of late, so maybe The Weeknd’s new look is as simple as a fresh cut for a fresh start. Bella and The Weeknd reportedly split after struggling to make things work long-distance. A source told E! News, “They are in different places right now, physically and mentally. Bella is preparing for her fashion week commitments and Abel is working on his music and his upcoming acting debut.”
