Whether you’re a runner, yogi, weightlifter, or simply like to take a daily stroll with your dog, the right fitness gear is out there for you. And since it's an industry that has really taken off in recent years, more and more brands are bringing fashion into the mix, so you can still look good while you sweat it out in the (at-home) gym.
Here are the brands that we've been shopping to help us reach out step counts.
Best Designs: Spell
This Byron Bay favourite made its foray into activewear recently, and not only are the designs true to the brand's chic, bohemian prints, but the silhouettes are insanely comfortable. The sets are also manufactured using recycled fibres to aid in reducing landfill.
Best Luxury: The Upside
Cult Australian activewear brand The Upside has always been a go-to for those of us who like a bit of luxury, but don't want to sacrifice functionality.
Best Basics: Lululemon
Lululemon has been a front-runner in the activewear game for years, and one of the reasons is because of its incredibly versatile range. Whether you prefer yoga, running or training, they've got an option for everyone.
Best Size-Inclusive: girlfriend collective
With a wonderfully inclusive size range from XXS-6XL and a spectrum of very chic colours, girlfriend collective is not only aesthetically on point, but also ahead in the sustainability field. Since their beginning, the brand has utilised recycled water bottles to produce its fabric. We're swooning.
Best Sustainable: Nagnata
Homegrown brand Nagnata has been a smash hit since its inception into the activewear-meets-fashion market. And there aren't many pieces from the brand's ever so chic collection that we wouldn't wear outside of working out.
Best International: Free People
Free People is such an iconic brand and so it's no wonder their activewear is killer.
Best All-Rounder: Nimble
Developed by two besties, Nimble quickly became a must-buy for all activewear lovers. The brand not only has great basics, but they're committed to developing their sustainable practices which we love.
Best Athleisure: P.E Nation
Famed for their retro-inspired designs, P.E Nation is the brand to go to for instant cool factor. Whether it's a printed jacket or bold colour-block leggings, these styles flow seamlessly into regular daywear.
Best Maternity: Cotton On Body
Most activewear, while comfortable, can be rather restricting and for those in search of maternity activewear (that still looks cute) then look no further than Cotton On Body.
