Christina Aguilera returned to Australia for the first time in 15 years last week – bringing her custom-designed food delivery bag with her.

The ‘Dirrty’ singer was snapped by paparazzi at Los Angeles airport, ready to board her flight to Australia with a Menulog-themed designer bag in tow.

Created by Australian designer label By Weave Collection, the bag was crafted to emulate the traditional Menulog delivery bag: a brown paper, short handle tote emblazoned with a white Menulog logo of a knife and fork.

The By Weave Collection bag riffs on these fundamental design characteristics, elevating the design with some leather craftsmanship and diamantes.

“Seeing a piece you created so carefully, in the hands of a global pop icon like Christina, is a huge buzz and it was amazing to see our dream turn into a reality,” By Weave designer, Weave Dibden Neck told marie claire Australia. “Honestly, it’s a real sense of accomplishment and pride. I have always believed in hard work paying off, and this was a wonderful example of that”

The bag was designed by Sydney-based small designer, By Weave Collection.

“It was a huge collaboration of moving parts to bring the finished piece together. From arranging digitally printed artwork for the lining in recycled fabric, to creating the key rings with Menulog imprinted on them, to commissioning a jeweller to create the gold charms,” Weave explained.

“Once all the pieces were in place I was able to hand craft the leather bag myself in my Sydney studio.”

By Weave Collection shared the pap shots of Aguilera on its Instagram, explaining the bag was designed to match the “glitz and glamour” of Menulog’s latest campaign.

“The absolute showcase of the commercials [Menulog] produce is just extraordinary, so [the partnership] massively appealed to me creatively,” Weave said. “I was very into hip hop when I was young and seeing Christina and Latto performing hip-hop and opera together is just awesome!”

Weave added that she loves Menulog’s support of small artists as well as big names like Christina’s.

“The company is always pushing boundaries, working with big artists, but also supporting smaller ones, creating stunning concepts and original ideas. That is also what I am about, and represent, so I’m thrilled to have been asked to work on this.”

This is not the first time By Weave has been seen on an A-List talent, with celebs like Dua Lipa and model Shanina Shaik.

After being papped with her Menulog bag, Christina later sat down to share on TikTOk what she’s been keeping in her tote, which includes a peppermint oil and a personal mini fan.

Christina returned to Australia for her first concert here in 15 years, which took place at Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse.

Heavy rains did not stop the pop star from delivering a stellar performance to a crowd of around 20,000. She performed her classic hits, including ‘Genie In A Bottle’, ‘Beautiful’, ‘Fighter’ and ‘Lady Marmalade’.

Aguilera is the latest Menulog ambassador, following in the star-studded footsteps of Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry.
