Margot Robbie Meets Kylie Minogue In Chanel’s Most Nostalgic Campaign Yet

Come into Chanel's world

There’s a particular kind of cultural moment that feels like it was made specifically for Australians, and Chanel’s new campaign for its 25 handbag is very much that. House ambassador Margot Robbie stars in the film directed by Michel Gondry — and she’s brought a very special guest along for the ride: none other than Kylie Minogue.

The campaign is a love letter to the iconic music video for Kylie’s 2002 hit Come Into My World, also directed by Gondry, in which the singer looped endlessly through a Parisian streetscape.

Twenty-five years on, Gondry revisits that same playful concept — this time with Robbie running into multiple versions of herself, each one carrying a different iteration of the new CHANEL 25 bag. Kylie, naturally, makes a cameo, appearing in a setting evocative of a Parisian neighbourhood that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has watched that video on high rotation (which, if you’re Australian, is all of us).

The result is a campaign that feels both deeply nostalgic and thoroughly modern — a neat trick that only the most confident fashion houses can pull off. Pop, dynamic and infused with a sense of humour, it’s a reminder that luxury doesn’t always have to take itself so seriously.

Accompanying the film is a series of photographs shot by Craig McDean, capturing Robbie styled across a spectrum from polished to effortlessly off-duty — each look anchored by the new bag.

Introduced in 2025, the CHANEL 25 draws on the House’s most iconic codes: quilted leather, the interlaced chain strap, the double C.

Its supple, hobo-inspired silhouette is available in four sizes, with the Mini sitting at the centre of this campaign and offered in an enviable palette of 15 colours and materials ranging from denim to shiny calfskin.

Two Australian icons, one very covetable bag. Consider this the it-bag drop of the year.
