Kate Middleton Just Had Another Tiara Moment In A Christmas-Themed Ensemble

Two tiaras in two months is nothing to sneeze at.

Kate Middleton is in her tiara era. The Princess of Wales arrived at Buckingham Palace for a Diplomatic Reception on December 6 wearing a glimmering tiara and red beaded dress—a festive ensemble for the festive season.

The headpiece in question appears to be the Lotus Flower Tiara, which was last worn by the Princess back in October 2015. Sometimes referred to as the Papyrus Tiara, the piece features diamonds and pearls and was once a go-to for Princess Margaret. The Queen Mother also donned the tiara several times before husband, King George IV, took the throne.

Kate’s tiara moment comes after the newly minted Princess wore the Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara to the first state banquet hosted by King Charles III in November. It’s rare to see Kate wear a tiara in general, but to wear two in two months is an anomaly.

Kate’s striking red dress was designed by one of her all-time favourites Jenny Packham. The sold out style is worth more than AUD $18,000.

The Princess wore her hair in an up-do and added large diamond earrings to finish the ensemble.

The diplomatic reception brings King Charles, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate together at a heightened time for The Firm. Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex will release the first instalment of their Netflix docuseries on their full love story, and the challenges they faced in their roles as senior royals.

Just yesterday, Netflix dropped a trailer in which Harry claims The Palace went as far as to plant stories about them. It also covers off the intense media storm Markle was faced with after she married Prince Harry.

“There’s a hierarchy of the family,” the Prince is heard saying in the sneak peek. “There’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories. It’s a dirty game.”

He adds, “No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth.”

It’s undoubtedly going to be an intriguing watch, and it remains to be seen if the palace will respond to the docuseries claims. For now, it seems a distraction of glistening tiara’s and festive dresses is the name of the game. Watch this space.
