In a surprising turn of events, the model was randomly selected to perform the civic duty and sat through the first round of screening tests earlier this week.

When the 24-year-old appeared in court on January 13, Hadid was asked if she knows any of the 105 women who have accused the film producer of sexual misconduct and rape on a personal level.

In response, Hadid stated that fellow model Cara Delevingne is a close friend before adding that she once met actress Salma Hayek.

Despite her status and ties with the industry’s biggest power players, the model promised to remain impartial throughout the trial.

“I think I’m still able to keep an open mind on the facts,” Hadid said in court.

But the model was deemed unsuitable to play juror due to her connection with Weinstein and was dismissed alongside 62 potential jurors last night.

Due to the media circus around the case, the court summoned over 2,000 potential jurors in total, five times more than the average case, in order to find just 12 jurors and six alternate jurors.

The disgraced film mogul faces five charges of which include rape and predatory sexual assault relating to two alleged victims.

Six women are likely to testify against Weinstein but their stories form only a small portion of the 105 victims who have accused the 67-year-old of sexual misconduct.

Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie are among the growing list of stars who have publicly called out the former Hollywood mogul.
