Jennifer Lopez Opened Up For The First Time During Her New Ben Affleck Relationship: “It’s The Best Time Of My Life”

“This is it. I’ve never been better.”

For the first time since her separation from fiancée Alex Rodriguez and rekindling of her romance with former fiancée Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez has allowed fans a glimpse into how she’s currently feeling.

The multitalented actress, singer and entertainer spoke with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in a recent interview ahead of her latest music release. By the sounds of things, JLo’s doing very well indeed.

“I’m super happy,” Lopez shared. “I know people are always wondering. How are you? What’s going on? Are you okay? This is it. I’ve never been better.”

Lopez’s comments come after something of a turbulent time for the singer. Earlier in the year, her relationship with Rodriguez faced much discussion as rumours that the former baseball player cheated on her began to spread. Ultimately, the pair separated and since then Lopez has been reconnecting with her ex, Affleck. Much to the pleasure of Bennifer fans everywhere, we might add.

“And I want my people who care about me because I care about them so much, to know that I’ve really gotten to a place in my life where I’m great on my own,” she continued.

“And I think once you get to that place, then amazing things happen to you that you never imagine in your life happening again. And so that is where I’m at. And I love all the love that’s coming my way right now and all of the good wishes. And I just want everybody to know that it’s the best time. It’s the best time of my life.”

Lopez’s romantic relationship with Rodriguez was notable for how many business deals and brand partnerships the couple also had together. That said, based on their relatively swift disentanglement and Lopez’s latest music release, it seems like the separation was ultimately for the best: her latest song, “Cambia El Paso” translates in English to “change the step.”

“The song is about change and not being afraid to take the step,” Lopez said, speaking on SiriusXM’s Pitbull’s Globalization show before the single’s release. “Like, just take the step, advance, do what you need to do. If something’s not feeling right, whatever it is in your life, like, just make that move and dance. Dance is life, and joy and happiness.”

Lopez also referenced her time in the Dominican Republic—following her relationship with Rodriguez ending—as the moment she realised that she wanted to begin recording music again.

“I’m good,” she said. “I love my life right now. I love what I’m doing. I love where I’m at. I love the person that I am continually kind of evolving into and becoming. And that kind of joy, that kind of happiness, that kind of love always inspires me. I think some people really get inspired when they’re heartbroken.”

From her new (old?) romance with Ben Affleck, continuing work on her upcoming film Shotgun Wedding and now, a return to the studio, it seems Lopez’s step change is suiting her very well.
