Glorious Sydney has been home to the international WorldPride festivities this month, opening up the city to celebrate Mardi Gras 2023 in style.
Team marie claire Australia was on the ground at the Mardi Gras parade, at Darlinghurst’s Oxford Street and around the city, as we celebrate the beauty of community, inclusivity and of course, queer pride.
The energy was nothing short of compelling, as the community and allies gathered to celebrate, while also remembering the struggle of LGBTQIA+ people who paved the way before them. It is because of their tireless efforts and activism that the rainbow flag can fly over Australia’s most populous city for WorldPride.
Of course, it’s also a moment for fashion, as people don their most colourful outfits to express themselves and embrace a feeling of optimism and joy for the future.
Here are some of the happiest, most fabulous snaps you’ll find from the Pride March, and it’s enough to have you wishing we could live it all over again.
