After two years away from the spotlight, Lewis Capaldi has made a triumphant return to the stage, announcing plans to bring his world tour to Australia.
The news will mark the first time Lewis Capaldi has toured down under since performing at Falls Festival in 2019, and comes two years after the singer was forced to cancel a slew of dates due to health issues.
Fans were left reeling after Capaldi was forced to bow out of his headline spot on the Splendour In The Grass 2023 lineup and subsequent solo tour, after reckoning with a Tourette’s flare up.
Now he’s back and better than ever, announcing the long-awaited plans during his secret Glastonbury set on July 27. “Second time’s a charm on this one,” he told the crowd. “I just wanted to come and finish what I couldn’t finish last time.”
Closing his performance with a galvanising rendition of Somebody You Loved, Capaldi thanked his fans for sticking by him, even tearing up as he recalled the events of 2023. “I couldn’t sing this song two years ago,” he told the crowd. “I might struggle to finish it today for different reasons.

The overwhelming support for Capaldi’s return hasn’t gone unnoticed by the singer, who took to social media to express his gratitude, telling fans: “I’ve been away for a little while and to come back to this outpouring of love and support has been absolutely incredible.”
“I can’t thank everybody enough for all the kind words and stuff since Glastonbury, and now this. It’s been the best week of my life,” he said in celebration of his latest single Survive debuting at No. 1 in the UK.
