Louis Vuitton is welcoming a new kind of luxury into the interior space, with its Home collection bringing together furniture, textiles, tableware, trunk pieces and a roll call of celebrated designer collaborations. Shot at The Lands by Capella in Sydney, the collection is a celebration of craftsmanship and creativity, spanning everything from tabletop porcelain to statement lighting and sculptural seating.
On the table, the Dolce Vita collection brings a summery elegance to proceedings, splashing sunny yellow across plates and bowls. Crafted in fine Limoges porcelain, its artistic design brings the Monogram Flower to life in different guises.
Elsewhere, lighting takes centre stage with the Totem Lumineux, an elegant column of hand-blown Murano glass spheres that appear to balance atop a solid marble base. The lamp’s seven colourful globes — in shades of peacock blue, Capri yellow, Caribbean green, Venetian ruby and emerald green — are all differently shaped, each refracting the central column’s LED light. In a similar vein, the Valse lamp by Atelier Biagetti, crafted from leather upholstery with satin brass details, balances light and matter, movement and stillness. The sculptural piece appears suspended between stability and transformation, capturing the fleeting essence of time and inviting us to live in the present moment.
When it comes to seating, the Pecora armchair was created for Louis Vuitton by internationally acclaimed designer Patricia Urquiola. With its rounded wooden legs and voluptuous seat, arms and back, it’s the perfect mix of curves and comfort, soft and cocoon-like, designed to bring a warm presence to the home. Cristián Mohaded’s Aventura sofa, meanwhile, juxtaposes sumptuous seating with accents reminiscent of the leather corner reinforcements found on historic Louis Vuitton trunks.
For those with a playful streak, the collection doesn’t disappoint. Designed for spirit lovers, the Cave Whisky trunk is the epitome of sophistication, reinventing the historical Whisky Case with bright lining that draws attention to its crystal bottle and glasses. The Chess Box, compact, lightweight and easy to carry, is crafted from Monogram canvas with cowhide-leather trim and gold-toned hardware, its finely sculpted wooden playing pieces reinterpreting the Monogram Flower, each adorned with an engraved Louis Vuitton rivet. Its counterpart, the Backgammon Box, features Monogram coated canvas with leather trim and gold-toned hardware, its cream leather lining enhanced by colourful game markings, pieces and dice. There’s even a Ping-Pong Table bearing the Louis Vuitton Heritage stripes and initials, paired here with the Concertina Chair by Raw-Edges’ Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay.
Softening the space are the plush Ribbon cushions, created for Louis Vuitton by award-winning design duo Zanellato/Bortotto, who offer an artistic take on a house icon: the LV initials appear intertwined like a ribbon, creating a sense of endless movement. The duo also lends their touch to the Basket tables, weaving horizontal bands of leather into striking honeycomb motifs, each piece crowned by a reflective enamelled lava stone top.
Tabletop details continue with the Serpentine PM coffee table by Atelier Oï, where criss-crossing walnut legs are held in place by straps of blue Louis Vuitton leather. Sitting atop it, the graphic Inti Vase, Origami Flowers and the shell-like Coffret Coquillage jewellery box complete the vignette.
Men’s creative director Pharrell Williams pays tribute to Indian craftsmanship with the handmade Stonemate Trunk. Wrapped in Monogram coated canvas, the hard case features a stone marquetry chessboard and playing pieces finished in gold or palladium, crowned with natural pearls.
Throughout the collection, Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram Flower remains a constant source of inspiration. For the Blossom vase, Tokujin Yoshioka interprets it into a thick, smooth swirl of glass, hand-crafted by master glassblowers in Murano. The Flower carafe carries a bas-relief version of the motif at its base, engraved with the words “Louis Vuitton Paris.” And the sweet Petalo basket, created by Patricia Urquiola, is reminiscent of the flower and crafted entirely from natural calfskin.
Rounding things out, designer Cristián Mohaded looked to Louis Vuitton’s signature Damier checkerboard motif and the colours of Patagonia’s clay mountains to create the Sunshine cushion — a fitting finish to a collection where craftsmanship, colour and the house’s most storied codes come together at home.
