What is the plot of House Of The Dragon season 2?

At the very end of season one, we saw Rhaenyra (played by Emma D’Arcy) learning that her son had been killed. Her grief and fury were palpable; she wanted revenge. War, it seems, was inevitable.

The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire & Blood, which tracks the civil war, ultimately leading to the new ruler sitting on the Iron Throne. Showrunner Ryan Condal revealed that season one was somewhat of an introduction to Martin’s book and its characters because he deemed it important to “understand these people’s complexities before they’re thrown into the war”.

He added that the second season would relate most to the middle seasons of HBO’s original series (and sequel to HotDGame of Thrones, but with more humour.

“I think Matt Smith is very funny. If there is one character that does not care, it is Daemon,” the showrunner quipped to Deadline
