To say recent years have been great for streaming would be an understatement. House of the Dragon, Euphoria, The White Lotus — the list goes on in terms of TV series that had us hooked from the get-go.
But, there’s one in particular we were all immediately obsessed with when it first premiered last year: The Last Of Us.
Based on the video game of the same name, The Last Of Us first caught our attention once we saw Pedro Pascal on the cast list, and our intrigue only grew from there.
Joining him in this post-apocalyptic drama is fellow Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey, along with a few Aussie stars to bring this story to the small screen.

What is The Last Of Us about?
Set in a post-apocalyptic version of the United States, The Last Of Us follows the journey of an unlikely duo who, despite their differences, are brought together and forced to rely on one another.
Joel, played by Pedro, and Ellie, played by Bella, cross paths when the former is hired to smuggle the teenage girl out of an oppressive quarantine zone and must defy all odds to survive the threats that lie ahead.
As per the synopsis, “what starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.”
Taking place 20 years after modern civilisation has been destroyed and based on one of the world’s most popular video games, the series has all the thrills and spills that you could expect.
Who is cast in The Last Of Us?
Pedro Pascal takes the lead as Joel, a hardened survivor, and Bella Ramsey stars as the 14-year-old Ellie, who holds the key to getting a vaccine.
Anna Torv takes on the role of Tess, a smuggler and fellow hardened survivor, and Murray Bartlett (whom you may recognise from The White Lotus) plays Frank, a post-pandemic survivalist.
Joining them is Gabriel Luna as Joel’s brother Tommy, Nico Parker as Joel’s daughter Sarah, Nick Offerman as Bill, a survivalist who lives with Frank, and Melanie Lynskey as Kathleen, the leader of a revolutionary movement.
Other stars include Jeffrey Pierce, Storm Reid, Merle Dandridge, Lamar Johnson, Keivonn Woodard, Graham Greene, Elaine Miles, Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker.
