At age one, Lilibet Diana is ready to face the world—quite literally. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have just released a gorgeous new photo of their youngest daughter to mark her first birthday, and it’s the very first time anyone has seen the young royal’s face.

Naturally, royal watchers were quick to jump on the ‘who does she look like most?’ band-wagon, and there’s one royal everyone agrees she’s a dead ringer for.

With a head of hair like that, our minds go straight to baby Prince Harry.

And not unlike Lilibet’s cousin, Princess Charlotte, there’s definitely a resemblance between her namesake, Queen Elizabeth II.

The new portrait, captured by the Sussex’s dear friend Misan Harriman (the very same photographer behind their pregnancy announcement shoot), was snapped at the couple’s Windsor residence Frogmore Cottage.

Over the weekend, the family, including the Sussexes three-year-old son Archie, celebrated Lilibet’s first lap around the sun with an intimate backyard picnic with close friends and family.

Per Harper’s BAZAAR US, a special custom cake was made by London-based caker, Claire Ptak—she was the very same cook behind the royal couple’s wedding cake back in 2018.

Instead of reciveing cards and gifts, the pair asked for donations to World Central Kitchen, a charity feeding those in need around the globe. In total, the organisation received US $100,000 in donations for the royal birthday.

Harriman himself also re-shared the sweet portrait of Lilibet along with several more snaps from the birthday celebrations on Twitter. In one image, Meghan is seen smiling while she cradles Lilibet.

The birthday celebrations came during an eventful weekend for the royals as they celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Harry and Meghan flew over especially for the milestone events, where they attended Thursday’s Trooping The Colour (though they kept their presence low-key by watching from inside Buckingham Palace). On Friday, they stepped out together to attend a Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral alongside Kate Middleton, Prince William and more royals.

It’s understood the family have now travelled back to their home base in California where they continue to work on various social ventures under their charitable foundation, Archewell.
