What Is The Plot Of The Haunting Of Bly Manor?
Fans of the show’s first season, The Haunting Of Hill House will know that it was inspired by Shirley Jackson’s 1959 horror novel of the same name.
And much like its predecessor, The Haunting Of Bly Manor is also based on a novel—that of the 1898 book The Turn Of The Screw by Henry James. The story follows a governess hired to take care of two (somewhat creepy) children at their impressive estate.
The story itself has previously been adapted into numerous films, most famously in 1961’s The Innocents, and most recently the 2020 film The Turning—in case you’re looking to do some research before your binge-watch.
But remember that you might lose some sleep, because according to The Haunting‘s creator Mike Flanagan, this season is set to be “scarier”. “It’s a lot more frightening, just on a visceral level,” Flanagan revealed to Entertainment Weekly.

Who Is In The Cast Of The Haunting Of Bly Manor?
The last season might be behind us, but the cast is looking to stick around. Bly Manor will feature You‘s Victoria Pedretti (who played Nell Crain), Oliver Jackson-Cohen (who played Nell’s twin brother Luke), Kate Siegal (who played their older sister Theo) and Henry Thomas (who played the younger version of their father, Hugh).
The Haunting franchise also welcomes newcomers Rahul Kohli (iZombie), Tahirah Sharif (A Christmas Prince) and T’Nia Miller (Sex Education).
