Prince George is a four-year-old with complex emotions – there are more photos of him scowling than smiling, he hates the paparazzi (especially if Gary Janetti is to be believed) and generally conducts himself in public with the manner of a toddler who expects to be treated like a king (which, one day, he will be).
He was in fine form at the weekend’s royal wedding – while Princess Charlotte smiled and waved and was generally delightful, Prince George looked bored, annoyed and by the end of the ceremony, completely over it:

Which is why we’re so surprised to see him smiling – wait, make that positively beaming – in the official royal wedding portraits that Kensington Palace released today.
