Marc Jacobs Beauty has finally arrived Down Under at Sephora, after weeks of being tantalisingly teased overseas, where the long-awaited relaunch arrived in June.
The line, which first launched in 2013 before inexplicably disappearing from shelves in 2021, is back, but it has shed much of the sleek, lacquered lustre that defined its original incarnation. Where the first collection belonged to the sophisticated world of early 2010s luxury beauty, its successor is altogether more fanciful and exuberant.
Rumours of its return have swirled since it shuttered, but it wasn’t until the designer’s Spring 2026 RTW collection, Memory Loss, that we had tangible evidence that the magic of Marc Jacobs Beauty was stirring once more. The runway offered glimpses of what was to come: pale blue eyelids, dramatic inky liner, fresh skin and fuchsia pink blush dusted generously across cheekbones.
“Marc Jacobs Beauty represents joy, and is a celebration of how we can use makeup to express ourselves through colour, through texture, and shape,” Jacobs shared in a statement.
“Joy and pleasure is hugely important, especially when there’s so much stuff in the day that isn’t playful or joyous.”
That joy feels most evident in the new packaging, an exuberant menagerie of stars, daises and hearts rendered in puffy, foil-like forms, akin to Mylar balloons. There is something wonderfully surreal about the products themselves, familiar beauty staples transformed into miniature talismans, the visual language of fashion, pop-culture and Marc Jacobs’ own fantastical universe folded into every detail.
Explaining the thinking behind the packaging, Jacobs said, “I gave these things emoji-like qualities that represented something in beauty. That was a way to combine things we’ve always played with, but also give them a meaning.”
The relaunch encompasses eight categories across complexion, lips and eyes, from the the Draw This Way Eyeliner, Born Star Eyeshadow and Flashes Mascara to the Multi-Use Shimmer, Joystick Blush Stick, Legally Bronze Bronzer, Nude Awakening Concealer and the Heart On Lipstick.
Across the formulas, ingredients including daisy flower oil, hyaluronic acid, cherry oil and peptides lends a skin-conscious and hydrating sensibility, while the shade offering is expansive and gloriously unrestrained. Matte, duochrome, glitter and metallic finishes punctuate the collection, while the palette moves from understated neutrals to unabashed flashes of colour.
Each product distinguished itself in its own way, whether through a sumptuous, creamy application, richly saturated pigment or enduring wear. Yet, among the selection, three products in particular emerged as true standouts.
Flashes Volumising Mascara
$49 At Sephora
This mascara definitely delivers on its volumising promise. The hourglass shaped wand provided excellent separation while adding impressive length to my lashes from root to tip. I was equally taken with its staying power. After a full 10-hour day of wear, there was no drop or smudging under my eyes, which left me thoroughly impressed.
The formula is also enriched with peptides and clover flower extract to help nourish and condition your lashes as you wear it.
I only tried the onyx shade, but it’s also available in brown and indigo, both of which I’d love to try. Needless to say, it has earned itself a firm place on my repurchase list.
Drawn This Way Longwear Eyeliner
$45 At Sephora
I can’t overstate how much I love this eyeliner. The creamy formula glides effortlessly across the lids and waterline without the slightest tug, yet once set, has the tenacity of a gel pencil.
The liner is finished, naturally, with a little star on the cap, a signature motif Jacobs carried across his eye collection. There’s an array of matte shades to choose from, spanning understated neutrals to exuberant jolts of colour, with metallics thrown in for good measure.
It also has the right amount of playtime, allowing you to blend and smudge the pigment before it sets into place, leaving behind a waterproof finish.
Joystick Blush Stick
$53 At Sephora
This balmy, buildable blush reinvigorated my complexion, imparting a healthy flush that made me look perfectly sun-kissed. I swept it generously across both cheeks and the bridge of my nose, and was pleasantly surprised by how seamlessly it melted into my base without disturbing my foundation underneath.
The shade range is vibrant, spanning a plush peach aptly named “Papa Don’t Peach”, a vivid fuchsia in “Hot Flush”, and the deep, decadent plum of “Freaks And Cheeks”.
The formula is enriched with hydrating ingredients including castor seed oil and Vitamin E, alongside daisy flower extract. Beyond it’s charming reference to Jacobs’ long-standing affinity with daisies, the extract is valued for its soothing, anti-inflammatory and brightening properties.
Then, of course, there is the packaging. With its joyful daisy motif and butter yellow casing, its pocket-sized proportions make it feel like a little slice of sunshine tucked inside your makeup bag.
