Last night on The Bachelor, Matty J took Cobie on a one-on-one date which ended with him telling her he didn't think things were progressing romantically. As we watched from home, our hearts couldn't help but break for the most bubbly and positive girl on reality TV.
But speaking to her today, it was evident that Cobie is totally recovered, with her even saying she knew the end was coming.
"Watching it back last night wasn't too bad," she told marie claire. "I thought it was really nice that he did it on a single date and I really respect him for that."
"He was always really nice to me," she continues.
It was obvious who Matty was falling for
Cobie says that while her first one-on-one date with Matty went really well, she could see him forming more intimate connections with other women in the house.
“I definitely saw him get closer to the other girls," she says. "You can tell who he grabs, how much time they get together. It was pretty obvious but I was just trying to hang in there.”
When we try to get specific names, all Cobie will say is: "the top four, he’s well suited to all of the girls that he’s taking to hometowns."
On whether she thinks Tara could be the one
While Elora and Michelle were quick to shut down our hopes of Tara getting the final rose, Cobie thinks she is definitely in with a chance.
"It’s funny that you say ‘everyone can’t see it’ but I was in the house and I saw it,” she says. “They make sense to me and they get on so well, whenever he looks at her - and a couple of the other girls - he just lights up."
"It’s like watching someone fall in love.”
However, she says that out of the top four she thinks Matty is probably best suited to Flo. "Flo’s pretty awesome, Flo or Laura."
On whether Matty is told what to do by producers
"Not that I know of", she says. "I thought he was himself, he was really funny and he’s a really nice guy."
"But of course he’s going to be guided," she continues. "I mean, we were guided, the producers would ask us to talk about certain things at cocktail parties."
"They’re there to guide us so we know how to handle the situation and to make sure we’re opening up and being the best versions of ourselves."
But does Matty have the final say? “100%, he’s a grown man, of course, he does!”
