Dior’s New Médaillon Lip Balm Is On Every It-Girl’s Phone

I need it

Every so often, a new beauty buy comes along that instantly has us, and everyone else, in a collective chokehold. In 2015, it was the meticulously matte pout of a Kylie Lip Kit; more recently, it took the form of Rhode Beauty’s Peptide Lip Treatment and matching phone case.

In 2026, it’s the release of the Dior Médaillon, a glittering, hydrating lip balm that has sent beauty buffs and luxury lovers alike into a spiral.

Launched as part of the Maison’s Holiday Collection, it’s described as a “sparkly lip balm” that doubles as a “makeup accessory”. The formula promises 24-hour hydration with a sheer baby pink tint and soft sparkle finish, perfect for the festive season.

The broader holiday collection, from Peter Philips, creative and image director of Christian Dior Makeup, “showcases the iconic creations of Dior makeup through honey and cinnamon eye looks and spicy nail lacquer shades, all brought together by ultra-shine glitter lips”.

The Médaillon casing is a Dior signature since December 1946, when it became a decorative motif for the interior of the House’s first Parisian boutique. It’s a motif that has also been reimagined by creative director Jonathan Anderson across the Maison’s recent collections.

The 18th-century neoclassical design is made to be displayed, which is exactly why the doubling of the lip balm as a phone charm has sparked such fervour over its release. The lip accessory comes with a peel-away adhesive allowing the medallion to be stuck to the back of a phone case.

If your social feed is anything like mine, you will have seen the stunning gold token on every it-girl and model’s mobile already.

As a woman who owns 20 lip balms and can never find a single one, it’s a must-have, really.

The Dior Médaillon, $160, is available to buy for a limited time at Dior Beauty. Don’t hesitate; it’s bound to sell out.
