The 4 Nail Colours You Need Now

Your winter mani - sorted

We asked Jin Soon Choi, an in-demand NYC manicurist (Karlie Kloss, Taylor Swift and Anne Hathaway are fans) and founder of JINsoon Nail Lacquer, to pick the hottest nail colours for winter. You’re welcome.

#1 Rouge Trading

The trend: A delicious red isn’t just the perfect accompaniment to any meal – this season it extends to your nails, too

The tip: Keep your mani glossy and chip-free

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Nail Enamel in Queen of Hearts

#2 All That Glitters

The trend: Glitter manis get a grown-up makeover with subtle hints of shine on tips and ends, and just a slight glimmer over solid shades

The tip: “Keep your glitter sophisticated by going minimalistic,” suggests Choi. “Try a classic nude mani with a simple stripe of gold down the centre of a few nails, or wear gold over the top of of an opaque colour.”

#3 Crayola Colours

The trend: If neutrals aren’t your thing, perk up your winter wardrobe with a bright hue

The tip: Nail prep is essential with a punchy hue, so use a base coat (to prevent discolouration) and top coat with UV filters (to prevent fading)

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche à l’Huile in Cobalt Indecent

#4 Basic Instinct

The trend: There’s nothing more wearable than opaque colours in easy shades from sheer nude and pink, to greige and crisp white

The tip: To find your perfect neutral, look for the shade that makes your skin appear lively and fresh, advises Choi
