Kate Middleton’s Classic Gold Hoops Are A Lesson In Timeless Dressing

The Duchess of Cambridge's latest accessory is a wardrobe staple

If Kate Middleton has taught us anything in her past decade in the royal family, it’s that classic wardrobe staples are never to be underestimated. From a tartan coat recycled wherever necessary, always at Christmas and on royal tours of Scotland, to a never-ending selection of affordable basics from Boden and Marks & Spencer, the Duchess of Cambridge has offered up plenty of sartorial lessons over the years.

Her most recent lesson? That a pair of classic gold hoops will always be on trend. Attending an event at School 21 in East London this week, Kate wore a pink sweater from Boden (one of her favourites), black Jigsaw pants, and a matching Max&Co. coat, all pulled together with a pair of gold chain-link earrings from Orelia, which retail for as little as $28.

The entire ensemble was a masterclass in minimalist elegance. Thankfully, the Kate Middleton effect hasn’t grabbed hold of these just yet and the earrings are (somehow) still available on the London-based brand’s website.
