The Croisette has delivered once again. Now in its 79th edition, the 2026 Cannes Film Festival has already proven itself one of the most talked-about in recent memory — and not just for what’s screening inside the Palais des Festivals.

Barbara Palvin turned her red carpet appearance at the Histoires Parallèles premiere into a stunning pregnancy announcement. On May 14, the model descended the steps at Hôtel Martinez dressed in a sweet baby-blue Miu Miu gown with a dreamy empire waist and feathered hem, with her arms cradling her growing belly and husband Dylan Sprouse by her side. The couple followed the red carpet appearance with a joint Instagram announcement featuring their official sonogram, making it official: they’re expecting their first child together.

Then there was the return everyone had been waiting for: Bella Hadid. The model, who has come to be known as the unofficial queen of Cannes, hit the red carpet for the Garance premiere in a custom Prada grey double satin dress with a draped strapless neckline embellished with crystal embroidery, paired with a matching cape with bomber sleeves. She had already set the tone for her festival earlier in the week, arriving in a vintage Prada Spring 1999 co-ord that confirmed her status as Prada Beauty’s most faithful ambassador.

Meanwhile, jury member Demi Moore has been running her own master class in red carpet dressing. She opened with two Jacquemus looks in a single day — a polka-dot fishtail dress for the jury photocall and a sculptural white sequined bustier gown for the opening ceremony, before moving through a custom purple Gucci gown with a ruched bodice and sheer sleeves and, most recently, a theatrical hot pink Matières Fécales look with raw edges and ballroom-scale volume.
