“I feel like we’re all very stressed for time. That’s the one thing I really wanted Ouai to stand for – really showing women how to have effortless beauty but also realistic beauty and really embrace their natural hair,” says Atkin.
“I’ve been teaching a lot of girls to skip the hot tools,” she explains. The one tool she can’t go without however is the Dyson Supersonic Diffuser. “It’s a game-changer. So I’ll take my hair and I’ll basically hold it from the end, wet and with product in it. I do like an accordion movement where I pull it back and forth and kind of squeeze it. I then put it into the diffuser and just let it sit there for five to six seconds and then let it out, and it has a wave that you would get from a curling iron, it’s amazing.”
"I like to give women the power to do their own hair," says Atkin. "I feel like we don't live a lifestyle where we can go and get our hair blown out twice a week."
