Nominations for the 77th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards have been released, stars have hit the red carpet, and the awards (including winner announcements) are underway.
Severance sweeped all the main categories totalling 27 nods, while The Penguin follows in close contention for the most-nominated show with 24 nominations of its own. Then, there’s Seth Rogen’s industry satire, The Studio, receiving an impressive 23.
Of course, The Bear – now enjoying its third year of awards season recognition – features heavily throughout, including a Best Directing nod for Ayo Edebiri’s episode ‘Napkins’ – which we were thrilled to see.
But while big shows like The White Lotus and Nobody Wants This are celebrating multiple nods, inclusions for cult favourites like Yellowjackets and The Handmaid’s Tale were noticeably absent.
