The first trailer for Off Campus is finally here and as a fan of the original book series, let me tell you: it’s everything we could have hoped for.
From the moment Amazon Prime Video announced it would be adapting Elle Kennedy’s beloved college hockey romance series, we’ve been patiently waiting to hear Garrett Graham utter the word ‘Wellsy’. When that moment finally came in this new clip? Shivers.
Not only did the first trailer confirm the chemistry between Hannah (Ella Bright) and Garrett (Belmont Camelli) is absolutely sizzling, but also revealed some of fans’ favourite scenes have been perfectly recreated.
Hannah’s Karaoke performance in the bar? Yes. The boys devouring her homemade lasagna? Absolutely. Dean being Dean? You can count on it.

There’s so much to unpack from just two-minutes worth of footage, but there’s one blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment that has fans spiralling.
As it cuts between emotional scenes, we see Justin (played by Josh Heuston) sat at a piano before he asks Hannah, “Why don’t you tell me what you think the song is about?”
She replies: “Like, being in love with someone who doesn’t see you.”
For the uninitiated, the comment could easily be attributed to Hannah and Garrett’s complicated feelings for one another. But, we don’t cut to our two leads. No, we cut to a split-second scene between Allie (Mika Abdalla) and Dean (Stephen Kalyn).
In it we see Allie dancing the night away at a party before it pans to Dean looking at her with what romance-readers will quickly identify as yearning.
“Panning to Dean watching Allie dance is ABSOLUTE CINEMA,” one commented. I couldn’t agree more.
It has many convinced that the already confirmed second season of Off Campus will jump to their story in book three rather than follow the order of publishing.
Considering Allie is thought to play a major part in season one, whereas the FMC of book two, Grace, is yet to make an appearance, it would make more sense to focus on her next. We’ll have to wait and see if our suspicions are correct.
Every episode of Off Campus will be available to stream on Prime Video on May 13.
