We’re deep into awards season now as The Actors Awards, previously known as the SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards, take over Hollywood and our social feeds today.
The 32nd annual Actor Awards will take place on Sunday, March 1, 2026, bringing together the biggest names in film and television for an evening celebrating performances voted on by fellow actors.
The name change was confirmed in 2025, with organisers explaining that ‘The Actors Awards’ better reflects the award itself while “the refreshed name will also help introduce [the show] to new global audiences.”
While the name has been streamlined, the structure and voting body remain the same. The awards continue to be voted on by members of SAG-AFTRA, meaning performers are honoured by their peers — a distinction that has long made the ceremony an important bellwether ahead of the Academy Awards.
If you’re planning to tune in from Australia, here’s exactly how to watch it.
The Actor Awards will stream live and exclusively on Netflix in Australia. The ceremony will not air on free-to-air or traditional pay television, so a Netflix subscription is required to access the live broadcast.
The show is scheduled to begin at approximately 11 am AEDT with an hour of red carpet coverage before the ceremony begins at 12pm AEDT to align with the broadcast in the United States.
