Every wedding day is emotional, but for Jacquie Goncher, 25, the walk down the aisle was a particularly poignant moment.
The story of Goncher’s wedding has gone viral over the past week, and a quick glance at the gorgeous photos by Love Stories by Halie + Alec shows exactly why.
Goncher was paralysed from the neck down after a swimming accident which damaged her spinal cord when she as 17. Doctors claimed she would never walk again, but the teenager beat the odds within months by teaching herself to stand. However, she mostly relied upon her wheelchair.
In the months leading up to her wedding, Goncher was determined that she would be able to walk down the aisle and dance with her husband.
