While we thought we knew absolutely everything there was to know about actress Meghan Markle in the lead-up to the royal wedding (ie: her early feminist credentials, her family tree, her commercial work, and her health and beauty secrets), today we learnt yet another unexpected tidbit about the royal-to-be.
Turns out the Suits star had a very small role in the 2010 black comedy Get Him to the Greek, alongside Russell Brand and Jonah Hill. And even more surprising, it appears Brand ‘snogged’ Markle (his words, not ours) for a scene in the movie.
Appearing on an episode of Loose Women in the UK, Brand revealed he met Markle while filming.
"She was in a film I was in, Get Him to the Greek,” he recounted.
"It was a good film. Didn't know [her] at the time because she wasn't married to a royal person.”
Brand continued: "I don't remember the film that much. I think I planted one on her in the scene. It was scripted in the scene. I only know this because I think I saw a clip of it somewhere.”
The actor joked about the possibility of a guest mentioning his on-screen kiss on the day of the royal wedding (May 19).
"They should bring that up at the wedding," the 42-year-old laughed. "If anyone has any reason to. Yeah, Russell Brand snogged her in the film!”
We’re guessing Brand hasn’t received an invite to the wedding.
