Fresh from the success of Wuthering Heights, there’s no debate that Jacob Elordi is one of Hollywood’s hottest (we repeat, hottest) stars right now. So, with the constant speculation over who will play the next James Bond, it’s not a surprise his name is suddenly being murmured… or well, shouted.
Many names have been circulating as lead contenders in recent months, from Aaron Taylor-Johnson to Callum Turner, the latter of which recently gave a very coy “no comment” on the matter while on a panel at at the Berlin Film Festival.
This week, however, new reports have begun suggesting Queensland-born Elordi has Bond in the bag.
Unverified reports have been circulating online that the role has been cast, including a post from renowned gossip page Deuxmoi.
The post reads: “Amazon have offered Elordi the bond role. Filming starts in October this year.”
As with all submissions to the site, sources are anonymous and typically unverified, so take it with a grain of salt. Would we be mad if it were true? Quite the opposite.

If Elordi were to land the iconic character of James Bond, it would make the 28-year-old the youngest and tallest actor to portray 007. And, after many roles playing somewhat troubled or despicable characters, it would be a delight for fans to see him in an objectively charming, action-fuelled role.
This isn’t the first time Elordi’s name has been thrown in the ring, with rumours circulating as far back as 2023.
At the time, he was asked directly about the prospect of playing Bond, to which he responded: “It’s lovely… i like that people want to put me in their films. That makes me very happy.”
While it tells us precisely nothing, it was three years ago, and a lot has changed. While we wait more news, we’ll be here with our fingers crossed.
