Meghan Markle and Prince Harry returned from their royal tour of South Africa just in time for Kate Middleton and Prince William to head off on their trip to Pakistan yesterday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s schedule will no doubt be planned down to the minute for their five-day tour, but the royal couple had one rule: their flight was to leave after they’d done Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s school run.

Daily Mail‘s royal correspondent Rebecca English revealed on Twitter that the beginning of the trip was planned so that the parents-of-three could drop their eldest two to school. “Fun tour fact: William and Kate’s departure from the UK yesterday was designed so that they could do the school run before they left,” she wrote.

While Meghan and Harry took baby Archie Harrison with them on their recent trip, Kate and William have left their three, George, Charlotte and Louis, in England. English tweeted that, just like any grandparents would, Kate’s parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, are helping out while they’re gone.

“Grandparents Michael and Carole Middleton are helping to shoulder childcare duties while William and Kate are away,” she wrote.

English also revealed that for the first time, Wills and Kate have the added addition of a doctor with them for their trip. “The couple have also, for the first time, brought with them a tour doctor,” she wrote. “He’s a friend of William’s from his days with @EastAngliAirAmb Normally only the Queen and the Prince of Wales take a medic with them.”
