So, Is Taylor Swift At The 2026 AMAs?

Bad news, Swifties!

If there is one thing the American Music Awards reliably delivers, it’s spectacle.

But for many viewers tuning into the 2026 ceremony, one question hovered over the night long before the first trophy was handed out: where was Taylor Swift, and would she make a last-minute appearance?

Despite leading this year’s nominations with eight nods — including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for The Life of a Showgirl and multiple song categories for “Fate of Ophelia” — Swift was notably absent from Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena.

According to People, the singer would not be attending the ceremony, even as she remained one of its defining presences.

At this point, Swift’s dominance at the AMAs is practically institutional. With 40 trophies already under her belt, she remains the most-awarded artist in the show’s history. Had she swept every category this year, she would have tied Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most AMA wins in a single year.

Yet rather than making another headline-generating appearance, Swift sat this one out, continuing her increasingly elusive pattern of public appearances.

In fact, Swift has not attended the AMAs since 2022. While the ceremony itself took a hiatus in 2023 and 2024, she was also absent from the 2025 awards despite receiving six nominations.

So, what exactly is Miss Swift up to?

Some fans suspect the singer is simply prioritising life away from the spotlight. She has recently been spending time in New York with fiancé Travis Kelce following their August 2025 engagement, with the couple reportedly deep in wedding preparations ahead of an expected July ceremony.

Others have pointed to her increasingly selective public appearances following the relentless scale of the Eras Tour era.

Still, the scheduling explanation only goes so far. This is, after all, the same woman who once flew from Tokyo to Las Vegas within 24 hours to attend the Super Bowl. If Swift wanted to be at the AMAs, it’s difficult to imagine logistics standing in her way.

For now, Swifties will have to settle for the knowledge that glimpses of Swift may arrive elsewhere soon enough — perhaps not on an awards stage, but at what could easily become the celebrity wedding of the decade.
