The 2025 American Music Awards took place today there’s one question we’re all asking: where was Taylor Swift?
Okay, maybe two questions… When are we getting the ‘Reputation’ Taylor’s Version AMAs announcement fans were expecting?
When the penultimate episode of The Handmaid’s Tale opened to an extended sequence of ‘Look What You Made Me Do (Taylor’s Version)’ last week, fans became convinced Swift would be announcing Reputation (Taylor’s Version) at the AMAs.
Every move from the ‘Cruel Summer’ singer has been analysed for months, if not years, as clues that seemingly pointed toward an American Music Awards moment were pieced together.
There was Swift’s online store being newly categorised into apparel, music, accessories, sale to spell out AMAs. Then, there were multiple clues pointing to the number 26 (the date of the AMAs in America). Coincidence? Not according to Swifties.
It seems, however, fans may have misread the signs…
Did Taylor Swift Go To The AMAs?
As the 2025 AMAs unfolded, Taylor Swift was noticeably absent. This year’s red carpet was surprisingly quiet with very few big name attendees appearing at all and if so, choosing to enter the ceremony quietly through a private entrance away from cameras.
While this wasn’t looking hopeful for Taylor fans given the singer has walked the carpet in past years, we still waited with baited breath.
Despite reports on TikTok of the star’s jet had been seen landing in Las Vegas and her backup dancers spotted in town, there were no sightings of Taylor Swift at the 2025 American Music Awards. The 35-year-old was also snubbed from all six categories she was nominated in, leading everyone to the conclusion that she wasn’t in attendance.
With no wins or reason to take the stage, it seems any confirmation of ‘Reputation TV’ is still to come. We guess we’ll have to reassess all those Easter eggs in the hopes of finding the true meaning to her clues…
