Taylor Swiftโ€™s Letter To Fans

Swift announced the news to fans in an emotional letter alongside a photo of her with her first six albums which appears on the first page of her website.

Iโ€™m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow. A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news,โ€ it began.

The singer then went on to discuss the overwhelming joy and relief she feels as well as giving details on Reputation TV.

Will Taylor Swift Still Release Reputation TV?

Since Reputation became eligible for re-recording in November 2022, Swifties have been on high alert for any hints about its release. From snake-themed accessories to strategic social media posts, fans have dissected every detail.

But, what does Swift buying back her masters mean for the re-recording?

Swift revealed in her letter that a re-recording of Rep TV was not even a quarter complete. In fact, the โ€˜Cruel Summerโ€™ singer felt that the original couldnโ€™t be improved and now with her masters now back in her hands, Rep TV likely wonโ€™t be released to the world or if it is, would look different to prior TV albums.

โ€œThere will be a time (if youโ€™re into the idea) for the unreleased Vault tracks from that album to hatch,โ€ she added.

โ€œIโ€™ve already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now. Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about. But if it happens, it wonโ€™t be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.โ€

Who Is Shamrock Capital?

Shamrock Capital is the investment firm that bought Taylorโ€™s masters from Scooter Braun in 2020.

When Shamrock initially acquired her masters from Braun, Swift declined a partnership with them due to Braunโ€™s continued financial involvement. However, in this recent development, Swift emphasized that Braun had no role in the transaction, allowing her to regain full ownership of her work.

โ€œI will be forever grateful to everyone at Shamrock Capital for being the first people to ever offer this to me. The way theyโ€™ve handled every interaction weโ€™ve had has been honest, fair, and respectful.โ€
